When you log onto SAS® Enterprise Miner™ the following error might occur:

An RMI registry could not be found at machinename:port. Check log for more information.

This error occurs when security has been implemented with SAS® Analytics Platform, but the certificate has not been imported into your truststore.

To determine if this might be the cause of your error, follow these steps:

  1. Go to http://yourserver:6401
  2. Click on the "Configuration" tab
  3. Look at the line that says "RMI security". If no extra security is in place, you will see: "RMI services are not secured."

If you have not imported the certificate, import it into the lib\security directory within your JRE directory. Example:

C:\Program Files\Java\j2rexxx\lib\security

If you have already imported the certificate, follow these steps:

  1. Check to see if you have multiple versions of Java installed.
  2. Look in Control Panel ► Add and Remove Programs to determine Java versions installed.
  3. Uninstall unsupported Java versions. SAS recommends JRE 1.5.0_12.
  4. Make sure the certificate has been imported into correct location. Example:

    C:\Program Files\Java\j2rexxx\lib\security.
